The Metropolitan Cathedral Primate of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Assumption, simply known as the Cathedral of Palermo, is the main place of Catholic worship in the city of Palermo and the bishop's seat of the metropolitan archdiocese. From July 3, 2015 it is part of the World Heritage (UNESCO) as part of the 'Route Arab-Norman Palermo, Monreale and Cefalu'.
