    I remember being a kid in the early 80s, eagerly awaiting the next issue of Details magazine to read Cookie Mueller's art column. In Nan Goldin's words "She was the starlet of the Lower East Side: a poetess, short story writer, starred in John Waters' early movies...a sort of queen of the downtown scene." The photo is Cookie & Vittorio's Wedding 1986 from Goldin's MoMA show. She said "I used to think I couldn't lose anyone if I photographed them enough." Cookie and Vittorio died of AIDS in 1989.
