Two Cute Fledglings
When I went to pick up a map from the Vistitor’s Center at Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge, I heard and then sighted two very cute barn swallow fledgings in a mud nest above an outdoor overhead light in a sheltered area outside the office. Every once in a while, a parent swallow would fly in very swiftly to stuff a mouth with some kind of insect and hurry off again to hunt for more food. It was a darling sight to observe.
