The Aran Islands are small islands off the western coast of Ireland. There are very few people living on the islands (900 on Inishmore, pictured here) and even fewer cars, but there do seem to be a lot of horses. Here, a horse and buggy take some tourists out to a local beach while another horse looks on. I made this image while leading a National Geographic Student Expedition in Ireland this summer.
