Whilst on a birding adventure, I decided head over to the Stony Point Battlefield (my home town) where I know Bald Eagles like to nest. On my way up the battlefield driveway, I see this heron perched in the middle of the marshland, I immediately park the car, grab my camera, run out through the woods to this pond, extend my monopod, and snap this beautiful photo just in time to see it fly away when the park ranger yelled at me for leaving my car in the middle of the road.
