this is Lincoln, again. he's closer to freshly hatched here and, boy was he ever cute. that's an american coot behind him which his parents had brought him for breakfast. i never stayed at the nest longer than 5 or 10 minutes when i'd visit. Mom always took off when i first got there but, she'd come back within a couple of minutes. it didn't matter if i caught her gone and buried myself in leaves..when she came back, she knew i was there. smart bird. i still can't believe i saw this!
