    We awoke in Portmagee to rain, fog, and rough seas, which prevented any boats from heading out to Skellig Michael. I can only imagine climbing the 618 steps up over 600 feet in dense fog, where one wrong step would be into the abyss. This is the view ahead of us as we drove the Skellig Ring. Who knows if the road ends around the bend?
