Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the U.S. Forest Service, and the 28th Governor of Pennsylvania, used Grey Towers as a summer home. Located on the grounds of this majestic retreat, is this wooden trellis/rotunda. Below, is a walled area filled with water. It was used by guests to pass food in a bowl across the water to each other. Photo taken on 12/14/06.
