'Kumari Puja' or Unmarried Girl Worship is mainly done on 'Nabami' during Durga Puja when Devi Durga is worshipped in form a young unmarried girl. A serene and unmarried girl with an age between one to sixteen years, who has not yet reached her puberty and is devoid of desire, worldly pleasures and anger is the right candidate for the Kumari Puja.
