Mouthful
In Fiji's Beqa Lagoon, locals are fighting overfishing by hand feeding sharks like this 300 lb. bull shark. They have established the first shark marine protected areas, which protect all fish, by replacing the revenue from commercial fishing with dive tourism. While I'm torn about shark feeding, which may promote unnatural behaviors, there are clearly some benefits. In addition to establishing the marine reserves, diving up close with them changes one's perception of sharks for the better.
