Lookout
After a long swim, this polar bear stopped on a small berg to rest and reassess its situation, at which moment a ray of sun made its way through the dreary sky, illuminating the bear’s fur.
Our changing climate presents a unique, two-fold challenge for polar bears: They hunt seals from above the ice floes. As the ice melts, their primary method of hunting disappears AND they must spend more time swimming in the water, which requires a higher demand on their energy reserves.
