Overhead there are the distinctive clicks and cheeps that hummingbirds make. There is an aerial battle ensuing several feet above. We are not talking about a WWI battle between the Red Baron and Eddie Rickenbacker, this is more Top Gun with a F-22/Harriers if there were such a thing. Hummers expend so much energy, they best battle near a fuel source. Directly below them is a massive growth of blooming lavender. Swooping down from the battle is this little fellow. In a flash he is gone.
