Family Outing: Mallard male hangs around his family of 7 ducklings along with Mum. The 7th baby is a straggler - he is nowhere to be seen in this photo!! The ducklings' feathery down throws light off in a way that gives them a natural glow (unltra-violet? uv protection?) which the adult mallards do not have!
