Yesterday was the second time I have had the opportunity to watch as a soft shell turtle traveled from one point to another. This particular turtle started out in an area of a wildlife refuge that is under construction and traveled across a street to another area of the wildlife refuge. I am not good at measuring distance but it was a good trek for such an awkward creature. I stayed with him as he traveled across the roadway to ensure he made it to safety.
