Deep in the Peruvian amazon is the Tambopata National Reserve. At dawn every day macaws and parrots of all varieties crowd cautiously to the clay licks to socialize and supplement their diets of unripe fruits. The slightest disturbance will scare them away, and they will not return until the next day. On this day, a boat-load of tourists arrived, scattering the birds.
