The Mokolea Lava Pool on the north shore of Kauai is a magnificent place. I spent 2 (very) early mornings photographing this spectacle of mother nature. The second image (close up) is probably one of my most difficult captures ever. The waves were continuously pounding against the lava rocks giving me only few seconds to set up my gear, frame the image and select the correct exposure. It took me plenty of attempts to get it right but I think I nailed it.
