    Just one of the eggs that made it through the caterpillar stage to become a Chrysalis. The Chrysalis's of these caterpillars will have different colors, green to brown to reddish purple to blend in better with the location of attachment. You can see the silk sling and how the posterior is connected with a webbing. I believe the drop you see is for removing fluids. This caterpillar chose to attach to a Lady Margaret Passion Vine, which is a host plant for Gulf Fritillaries and Zebra Longwings.
