    From November to December, from green to red, from living to dead....that's it. The coloration of the leaves is a nice example of how the organic molecules change in living things: the chlorophylls (responsible for the dominant green color) are broken down earlier....while the red/orange/yellow carotenoids stay longer.... become unmasked in October/November
