    Reported by:

Most of the dandelions in the school yard had become dry and brittle, with the wind helpfully blowing the seeds throughout the neighborhood. This ragged specimen was the last one standing. It had grown through the cracks in the asphalt and reminded me of a proud warrior. I thought about pulling it out of the ground and spreading the seeds myself while making a wish, but then decided to honor it by taking its picture instead. I have many more images at bk12.smugmug.com if you are interested.
