    Reported by:

Cold weather has a bad effect on plants. The frost that builds up in low temperatures causes the water in plant cells to freeze, damaging the cell wall of the cell. This can distort growth, leading to the inevitable brown coloration that stains all deciduous leaves when autumn comes. Its made worse if the plant faces the morning sun, as it leads to accelerated de-frosting which can rupture cell walls.
