Provisioning
These wasps usually dig a nest chamber then stock it with paralysed prey, but twice I have seen the wasps arrive with prey then dig the nest chamber. On both occasions the victim has started to recover from the effects of the paralysing sting while the wasp is digging, as here on both occasions the wasp realised and stung again the victim along with bites to the back of the victims neck. The digging then completed and the prey taken down as food for the egg then laid when it hatches.
