Pastry dough at the bottom, meat and vegetables in the middle, more dough on top. This simple pastry dish has defined my childhood and until now i love them, funny enough i dislike pastries and always ended up breaking it open to feast on the insides then disposing of the shells. My mother loves to feed the family and even sends her treats to my sisters in Canada quite often, not even distance can stop her. On this particular day she made a big batch for a friends event and of course i sampled.

Great perspective on your mother as she prepares the pastries. I love that she sends some to family in Canada. A true testament to the love we put into the food we make for others. It's a lovely story. Thank you for sharing, Raydon!
