I captured this shot of the Snowy Egrets at Merritt Island, Florida. Felt Like I was at a family reunion as they took turns grasping early morning snacks. You can always recognize this most elegant heron by the showy white plumage and the golden slippers on slender black legs. In the early part of the 20th century, their plumage which was used in lady’s fashions sold higher than the price of gold. In shallow water they search for fish and other water creatures for food.
