Yomari Puni Festival in Nepal
A yomari is displayed on top of a vehicle during a parade to celebrate the Yomari Puni festival in Kathmandu, Nepal on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. A yomari is a confection of rice flour dough, molasses and sesame seeds, shaped like a fish, a most popular food consumed especially on this day in Nepal. The Newar community marks the end of the rice harvest season and worship the Goddess of food and grains for prosperity throughout the year by celebrating the Yomari Puni festival.
