Griffon vulture portrait
Portrait of one of the the largest true bird of prey in the world, with a 2.3–2.8 m (7.5–9.2 ft) wingspan, the griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus). The condors, which may be marginally larger, are now generally considered unrelated to the true raptors. Taken some summers ago in southern Spain in a memorable carrion session, thanks to my friend Sebastián Molano.
