    Reported by:

These German Christmas cookies called pfeffernusse (pepper nuts) baking in my oven this year warmed the house with orange, clove, and cinnamon scents. It reminded me of how my grandmother's house used to smell at this time of year, and she's been gone for 11 years. It almost felt like she was watching over my shoulder. (I know @beckyhale's going to ding me for leaving the overhead lights on in this shot, but it was the action of sprinkling the powdered sugar I was focused on.)
