The Orca is one of my favorite predators, for its superb balance of grace vs. unmatched cunning and power. It is THE apex predator of the marine world. They are among the smartest animals on earth and also one of the most community & family minded. I photographed this Orca breaching in the whale-rich waters near Vancouver Island, Canada. It was taken a bit earlier (6:00 PM) than the other 2 images (8:30), so the light turned soft and lingered in to the evening. (#3 of 3 breach images)
