Bajau indonesians were once oceanic nomads, travelling the waters around Indonesias myriad islands, taking what they need from the sea to survive. Some would never step onto land. This village, Sampela, is a permanent settlement following government intervention. Their fishing methods are now proving to be destructive to as they do not have the freedom to roam around and let the ocean recover.
