A solitary lioness balances on a rock scouting her landscape in Masma Game Reserve, Northern Tanzania. In the late afternoon , angry baboon barks in the nearby tree's alerted me to the presence of this cat. Moments after this photo was taken, she lay down and took a cat-nap. Wildlife photography is often just a chance encounter. As darkness closes in, one can only imagine the lioness stalking her prey from this vantage point.
