Day 9 of my solo trek (first trek anywhere) in the Himalayan mountains. When you are this far out in the Himalayas, you realize that nobody will be coming to the rescue if you get into trouble. You're truly on your own. I've never felt so free in my life. Way out here, the silence is so soothing to the soul, that the mind turns off completely. No thought, no worries. Only an indescribable appreciation for life.
