It's been a real pleasure watching a pair of pied stilts with their youngster each morning for about 2 weeks when walking my dog along the river by my home. One parent usually stayed between me and junior with frequent warning calls to discourage me from coming closer. Last Monday I thought I'd better hurry up and get some photos or they'll be gone - 2 mornings later there was no sign of them.
