    Edit Photo Details Commercialisation in the ancient ruins  
    Before and after this shot, many tourists came by to give money to these two monks for prayers. Observation for half an hour made me feel like this shot was scripted to be there; my skepticism stems from the ways that money seemed to be the priority to the act of prayers rather than the spiritual essence of the prayers per se. Siem Reap is a city in rapid transition from the communal living and sharing to the state of capitalism and agencies. Hopefully heritage retains as the balance shifts.
