    The Hong Sam family is one of a hundred and twenty families in the Damdek village of Siem Reap, Cambodia that make Kralan that is sold to neighbouring villages or to the cities as sweet snacks. Kralan, or khao lam, is made with sticky rice, black beans and coconut milk roasted in bamboo for less than an hour.
