Six days ago I included a photo of a perching green woodpecker. This is a photo of the same bird just as it took off from its branch. I do enjoy blurry flight photos especially as this one shows the bird's beautiful flash of red and gorgeous spotted wing design. I don't know when I'll get another chance to photograph this species as they are quite a rare and infrequent visitor to us.
