Another amazing feat of mother nature, Doovili Ellla is formed when Walawe River plunges a drop of about 40 meters.The name 'Duwili' is derived from the Sinhalese word for dust, which describes the spray emanating from the waterfall.
The pond below is believed to be hiding the precious gems of the Walawe river under it's deep waters and folklore says a golden eel protects the gems.
