The ruins of the Laurens Cotton Mill in Laurens, South Carolina, USA stands testament to the dethroning of 'King Cotton' in the American South by cheaper labor in Asia. All that remains of this mill - once the anchor of the local economy - is elevator shafts, buttresses, a trim waste cart and piles of rubble.
