Edit Photo Details Coyote in the Elephant Seal Colony   #coyote #elephantseal #predator
This coyote visited the Elephant Seal colony in Point Reyes National Seashore, California. I was working as a Winter Wildlife docent, and it was an exciting event for the many visitors who were out there. I have been a docent for seven years and have never seen a coyote actually enter the colony. He was going after the carcass of a dead pup, who had probably drowned the previous week in the heavy rainstorms. The coyote seems tiny providing a surreal comparison to the immensity of the seals.
