The rare Firethroat furtively singing from a dense thicket on Mount Erlang in Sichuan, China. This little-known robin winters in wetlands in north-east India and neighboring Bangladesh, migrating to its remote montane breeding grounds for the summer from south-east Tibet to western Sichuan. Because of deforestation the Firethroat is Near Threatened, but it is possibly under-recorded in its largely inaccessible and little explored range.
