    winters are pleasing on the eye, no matter how curt they might be on the skin... a couple of years ago while trekking to Brahmatal, we underestimated the snow from the ridge down to the frozen lake, and the next four hours were spent exploring the nuances of burying oneself in varying depths of soft snow, but in between the toil lay some of the sharpest views, the glistening peaks scaring off and pulling in at the same time...
