While the rice fields are flooded in summer in Japan, catching crawfish (zarigani) is the perfect cool fun for a hot summer day. A small piece of dried squid is tied to a string and lowered into the water. The crawfish is gently pulled up by the string as it grabs the squid and caught in a net.
