The portrait of ayatollah Khomeini and ayatollah Khamenei on the wall show the sympathy for the Islamic revolution of 1979 in Iran. All public places in Iran should have a portrait of the two ayatollahs. This is not an obligation in private houses. Still some private houses have a portrait like this on the wal, showing the love and pride of the modern history of their country.
