Kaziranga Dawn
On a recent tour of Kaziranga National Park, India, we embarked on an elephant safari at the crack of dawn, in cold, foggy January. The grass was almost as tall as the elephants in some places and it was an incredibly primordial experience to wade through the grass and encounter the Great Indian Rhinoceros and Asiatic Wild Buffalo, as they emerged from the thick fog. I captured this image of my fellow travellers, as the sun cleared the trees, in a thick, curdled sky, lighting up the horizon.
