Native American Patriotism
After over a century of being forced or cajoled to integrate into European-American society, there has been a resurgence of Native pride. These dancers at an annual Pow-Wow held by the Coeur d'Alene (Schitsu'umsh) Tribe cherish their traditional costumes, dances, and traditions. All over the United States, Natives are finding their voices through culture and a hunger for self-determination.
