I took this photo on my fourth trip to Kidal to document the role that malian women are playing in the peace and reconciliation process with different Malian Women's NGOs of Bamako, women refugees and IDPs from Kidal and other women's groups returning to the north after two years to meet with other women that stayed in Kidal. I witnessed so many emotions and tears of joy, hope and happiness, of women that had to leave because of the conflict and that finally had the chance to come back.
