We've recently seen a lot of data regarding the phenomena called "trophic cascading." Wolves are a species that have been well-demonstrated to have major impacts on their surrounding environments, even the course of rivers. While wolves suffer immediate physical threats from many humans, like our own species, they are also at risk from the deleterious consequences of human environmental action and inaction. It is crucial that we look to this species as a key indicator of planetary health.
