Indian River, Dominica We saw this individual sitting high up on it's nest on our way up the Indian River on a boat tour. Luckily on the return trip the heron had left the nest and we were able to get a good look at him/her on a lower perch. These birds are fairly common in the southern United States, Central and South America. In Dominica they feed mainly on crabs.
