Well-known as a coffee substitute when its roots are roasted, chicory is thought of as a weed by botanists. This is another of the Wildflowers of Strawberry Fields calendar photos. Despite fierce opposition, Strawberry Fields is under imminent threat of being commercialized. The calendar will serve as a permanent reminder of the wildflowers which have grow freely and untrammeled for well over a century on this dedicated parkland. Chicory - Chichorium intybus.
