    Reported by:

The vultures are threatened by Diclofenac, a drug used to treat livestock for inflammation and fever. Diclofenac was banned by the government of Nepal in 2006. In the meantime, vulture restaurants have been started in many sites in Nepal where they are fed with carcasses of livestock that are treated by Meloxicam, a safe drug for vultures. As a result, the number of vulture is increasing in the country.
