We have had an elephant loving English friend staying with us, so I needed no excuse to take her to Sri Lanka's Lunugamwehera National Park! We had an experienced guide who took us well off the beaten track seeking truly wild elephants. Our jeep literally drove through hedges to reach the spot most likely to see these magnificent beasts. No other humans were present. It was an experience I will never forget! This teenager was left to fend for himself away from the herd.
