Paper kite butterflies mating
A male paper kite butterfly (above) is dispersing pheromones to check, in the form of chemical messaging, whether the mate (below) is of the opposite sex. If confirmed, the male is stimulated into initiating courtship, which is culminated in copulation.
I shot quite a few photos of these beautiful butterflies in the Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom in Singapore, and did not realize what I captured in one of them until I started processing the photos.
